Häagen-Dazs™ new and limited edition Elderflower & Blackcurrant and Rose Raspberry & Lychee

Häagen-Dazs™ new and limited edition Elderflower & Blackcurrant and Rose Raspberry & Lychee

Flowers and fruits are probably the my next favourite thing after desserts and when I got to know about Haagen Dazs and their limited edition ice cream flavours, I was really looking forward to it. The popular Rose Raspberry and Lychee flavour returned to their Little Gardens collection alongside a new flavour – Elderflower and Blackcurrant. Now have I gotten your attention yet?

We are talking about blackcurrant flavour. How cool is that right? It was my first time tasting blackcurrant flavoured ice cream and to be very honest, it was mind blowing when sweet scent and aroma of the elderflower complemented the blackcurrant so well, it’s almost like a match made in heaven. To me at least, especially when these luxury fruity flavours are packed in limited edition packaging. The dense texture feels solid as the lingering taste melts in your mouth.

Collaborating with Catherine Nice, known as Kitty McCall- an internationally recognized print and textile designer whose core products include art and textiles with bold, graphic and floral designs, the limited edition tubs are now in fine designs of this creative genius. Celebrating the power of spring, Kitty McCall’s ‘Limited Edition by Häagen-Dazs’ pack designs bring the new collection of flavours to life, intermingling traditional and contemporary design.

Among the many ice cream in tubs, Haagen Dazs has always been the strong silent type that is well known for not only its supreme quality but also the innovative flavours. It’s easy to host a floral dessert party with these two flavours and pairing them with rose tea and fresh fruit is probably one of the simplest ways to serve your guest. Fancy accompaniments aside, what makes the flavours amazing is the distinctly aromatic creamy flavour in the ice cream.

For an ultimate luxury ice cream experience, lookout for the fine craftsmanship and quality ingredient and a limited time only, log on to the Häagen-Dazs™ Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/haagendazsmalaysia/

The pints are priced at RM 32.15 each and are available in all Häagen-Dazs™ outlets nationwide. Additionally, in conjunction with the Little Gardens collection, Häagen-Dazs™ will have a limited edition menu of in-store delectable creations. The menu includes Elderflower Cake (RM 88.90), Flower Fondue (RM 75.00) and Flower Rhapsody (RM 27.90).

Special thanks to Seanne for personally delivering the ice cream to me.

Freshly Freeze @ Nu Sentral Mall

When mentioned “fried ice cream”, we probably think of those ice cream scoop encased in a crunchy layer on the outside with inside still icy cold. The term now deciphers differently with the cross of innovative global culture through culinary and what was known as the “fried ice cream”, now eliminates oil and the deep fryer. Instead, an ice pan or ice grill steel that is chilled to low temperature is used to “stir-fry” the ice cream. A comfortable and convenient way to do it is to make your way to Freshly Freeze at Nu Sentral Mall.

1. freshly freeze

This ice cream chain from Thailand recently made their way to Malaysia with the first outlet located near the largest transportation hub- KL Sentral, inside the Nu Sentral Mall. This healthier version of ice cream is slightly more expensive but is obviously a lot more fun to watch and a lot fresher with the basic and ultimate ingredient – cream to start off as the basic flavour. From there, additional toppings are added or folded in to yield assortment of varieties. Expect a longer serving time but watch them fried up your ice cream is equally entertaining.

This dessert starts from RM 15 and goes up to as much as RM 27 or higher (depending on the choices of toppings). Eliminate having to vex your toppings and head straight to the recommended combination and this one is the Strawberry Cheesecake (RM 25) served with fresh strawberries and with compote to enhance the creamy textured ice cream that was folded with a slab of moist sponge for a fluffier texture.

2. freshly freeze @ nusentral

There’s focus on the dessert in Freshly Freeze, and it is all served in a chic dining room with pendant light along with a large menu on the wall right next to the ice cream bar.

Jipangi Ice Cream @ Sunway Pyramid

Jipangi at Sunway pyramid is quite the latest happening kiosk (sort of) which is taking the social media feeds by storm ever since they opened not long ago. No longer strange to the Koreans, this Korea street snack is that translates to “walking stick” in Korean and named so for the resemblance of the cane-look-a-like corn cone. While versatile in length (depends on the person handling the cone-making machine), you normally get about a foot long or so.

2.jipangi (3)

Inside the cones or in this case the canes, is filled with soft-serve ice cream with choices of exciting flavours; vanilla, chocolate, and green tea. These corn snacks can be quite filling when consumed solo. Either that or it would have been melted by the time any slow eater reaches the end of the stick. Filled from one end and pumped inside the stick to fill the entire cone, the generous amount of soft ice cream are very satisfying indeed.

3.jipangi (5)

Jipangi is very pleased to be offering fixes in under RM 10 for the caffeine addicts- bottled Cold Brews by Three Bears Dutch with limited options; Americano (RM 8), Latte (RM 9), Mocha (RM 9) and Caramel (RM 10).

These ice cream sticks are selling at RM 7 for a single flavour, and RM 9 for a mix flavour; one at each end.
