La fiesta @Sky Avenue Genting Highland

La Fiesta @Sky Avenue Genting Highland

Genting Highland may be known more as a gambling destination but the resort actually offers fantastic food scene for all breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, late night snacking, and everything in between. Most of them at a tag slightly a little more costly of course. I’ve recently grown fond of the place since I tagged along a friend’s recent food tasting organized by the Genting World. I am ever grateful to him for taking me to tag along his food tasting because I’ve officially since then overcome my motion sickness with their brand new super speedy cable ride. If anyone is interested with that one day shenanigans, click here for snippets of the trip when we took the new cable ride for the first time.

And anyone who’s been following me on my insta story probably already know that I’ve been travelling a lot to Genting lately and the most recent indulgence put Spain’s tradition of small plates and wine onto my favourite list. La Fiesta serves dishes close to Spanish classics and I really recommend some wine to work your way through the tapas menu. Otherwise, vodka based cocktails are not quite a bad idea. Consider Lemon drop (RM 43) if you are fond of sweet and tang drinking spree.

The tapas are especially delicious. Try the Patatas bravas (RM 24). Potatoes with spicy tomato is easy to eat and is always a good combination to munch on. If you love your tomato and olives like I do, Olivas marinadas (RM 20) are going to kick start the meal so perfect as an appetiser. You must like olive to enjoy this one.

Traditional gazpacho (RM 22) is refreshingly simple yet boldly flavoured and friendly to the palate except I really don’t see how we could truly enjoy this at close to 6000 feet above sea level. I reckoned I’ll enjoy this twice as much in the city instead. Nonetheless, nothing could go wrong with fresh tomato with cucumber and garlic. I like calling this the fresh tomato packed refreshment. Of course, I am a fan of tomato as well.

Dishes come straight from the semi open kitchen into the dining room, which is adorned with classc looking mosaic tile floors and matching classy colours of wood. And they are all served by very polite and friendly crew. Presa iberica (RM 44) could be the main as this vermouth marinated and pan seared pork shoulder succulently tickles the palate with its delicious slices.

There is a romantic charm with archways and mirrors, making this an instant vibe for pure indulgence. They may not be the best place for drinks but La Fiesta certainly is the best place so far to savour Spanish bites in Genting Highland.

Next up, some afterthought for more booze. And that one is with live music in a chic lounge.
