Lai Po Heen @ Mandarin Oriental Hotel KL

lai po heen mandarin oriental

Chinese New Year is that real time when gorging is officially expected. With specially crafted – designed with the festive in mind, Lai Po Heen at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel adds some extra auspiciousness to their lunch and dinner as Chef Ricky presents every plate of dish beautifully starting with their Yee Sang to symbolise prosperity and plenty of good luck in the New Year to come.

When it comes to pork free and sharks fin free, here is a lineup of interesting Chinese staples for a typical Chinese New Year course. Each colourfully decorated with influences from an eclectic combination of healthy range and food heritage, expect fruity Yee Sang, the very nourishing Double-boiled abalone soup and sea cucumber with morel mushrooms, fresh and plump slice of Steamed Omega rich grouper, corn fed Poached Chicken, healthy Grained Rice fried with pumpkin and luxury sea harvests, and wok fried Ming prawns artistically served.

This is a quick post for reference following the overwhelming dms on my instagram, asking for the review. I apologize for not having the photos of a complete lineup of dishes (if you see the captions on my ig, I was not attending this as a blogger but instead, I was simply a casual tag-along plus one, thanks to Taufulou). Refer to their website for package prices and Taufulou’s blog for full review.

Looks absolutely amazing! Your great experience reminds me of the amazing Afternoon Tea at the Majestic Hotel KL (you can read about it here: http://traveluxblog.com/2014/10/11/special-afternoon-tea-at-the-majestic-hotel-kl/). You should definitely give this one a try!
