Malaysian International Gourmet Festival (MIGF 2014) Awards and Celebration Party
The MIGF 2014 finally wrapped with a cheerful and extravagant awards and celebration party at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur on the 6th November. With restaurants and hotels being recognized to compete and celebrate the Malaysian International Gourmet Festival, the ballroom of Royale Chulan Hotel was transformed into a lavish foodie paradise.
Huge LED screens and extravagant spotlights illuminating the hall, with firebreathers twirled and fire flaming to astonish the crowd. Audiences cheered in fascination with the performances and applauded as the Red Hot Chefs walked onto the stage.
The night is filled with live Latin music and dancers hyping up the ambiance, before the climax of the night; the presentation of festival awards.
With cocktails in Taman Mahsuri, the ballroom instantly filled with foodies and and gourmet enthusiasts, lining along with food stations to sample the grilling and the fired up fabulous food; the best of Malaysian cuisines.
Serving the most authentic flavours of Malaysian from various states, we have signatures all the way from south of Malaysia up to northern, and across the South China Sea, the East Malaysia.From Kelantan, Nasi Kerabu with Beef Serunding, Penang with the famous Fried Kuey Teow, Perak’s Tauhu Bakar and many more.
And the very authentic signature of Malaysian flavour, the king of fruits- Fried Durian.
Honoring the hardworking Festival Chefs and all participating counterparts this year, an average of six restaurants were honoured per category, the Special MIGF Festival Awards, the Chef Congeniality and the Golden Cauldron award.
Accompanied by Dato’ Steve Day, Festival Royal Patron Tunku Naquiyuddin ibni Tuanku Ja’afar presented the gleaming golden statuettes to the winners. Resorts World Genting was the biggest winner of the night with 25 Gold Awards, and Mr Edward Arthur Holloway receiving the MIGF Special Award for Most Outstanding Marketing of the Festival.
The honor of Golden Cauldron Award was claimed by Chef Nathalie Arbefeuille of Cuisine Gourmet by Nathalie who raised the gleaming trophy high, setting a new record by being the first female chef and the first independent restaurant to claim the Festival’s ultimate prize.
