Rojak @ Damansara

Rojak is one local delicacy which so far, I haven’t been able to find any good ones serving in commercialized shops or stalls. Most of them were mobile in a van and they ironically pairs with cendol or ice kacang all the time. I would say mostly are palatable, but there were still few good ones if you know where to look. In Damansara, there is one located along Jalan Setia and they are there almost every day. Peak hours are normally lunch hours, or tea break, or on Fridays, when there is a long lunch hour. There will be a few tables and stools, but most people just whack the delicious snack at the bus stop. Yes, a bus stop. Reason being, the mini lorry would park right next to a bus stop under a big tree.

On Fridays , you’ll see long queues as well. But you don’t really have to wait that long for a plate of rojak. In fact, you can even order it and they wouldn’t mind serving the food to you. Unlike the one in my previous post: Subang Jaya Rojak, this one gives a more relaxing eating experience. The Rojak, like most common stalls also serve with the basic ingredient of kuih, shredded cucumber and pang kuang, sotong, and hardboiled egg. The peanut chunk in thick chili gravy sauce is always an ambrosial combination. And in this one, it is not too spicy, not too sweet, a little briny for me, but enjoyable with the cendol.

But don’t think the cendol is anyhow as amazing as the rojak here because I have had better ones from Melaka. Nonetheless, it was okay. This mobile stall is located on an approximate GPS at 3.156457,101.660324. Take note that location my be inaccurate due to the fact that it is a mobile stall after all.
