Tasty Pot Steamboat Buffet

I like soups, but I love steamboats. I love the fact that we can all cook our food in a single pot and share among your family and friends while spending quality time with them. The fact that we could all sit together and wait for our food in the soup is amazingly warm. That is of course, if it is an air conditioned restaurant or if it is a rainy day, when the weather is cooling and breezy. Tasty pot happens to fulfill this apart from the amazing choices of types of soup bases.

This buffet style steamboat offers a wide variety of steamboat ingredient. You name it, 80% of the time they are most likely to have it. The ingredients are very fresh and they also offer barbeque and grill. You might have to be in a very long queue after picking up your desired BBQ ingredients. Some wouldn’t mind doing that but I personally didn’t like that. There is a great variety of fresh seafood including crab, oyster, clams, prawns, mussels, cockles, bamboo clam, scallop and fish.

Apart from fresh seafood, there is also a great variety of vegetables. Assorted plants of leaves, roots, flower, and fruits are non stop being refill for the customers.

My favorite corn of all sizes and fungus of all varieties were to my liking, especially in the herbal soup.

Noodle lovers would be pleased too. There are many types of noodle and rice vermicelli.

Processed meats are never lack of choices. Fishes, chickens, prawn, squid, and crab processed meatballs. My favorite is the chicken meatball with cheese. It goes well in tom yumsoup base.

Trying hard to fulfill all customers they have many sauces to accommodate customers whom especially like dipping into sauces.

For those can’t bear to wait for the ingredients to cook, there is cooked dishes here too. There is some fried noodles, curry chicken and this chicken feet for or those with eccentric fixations on authentic Chinese style food. Myself is not a big fan, but I tried it and it was not bad.

Let’s not forget dessert where they have a free flow of ice cream of few common flavors like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.

The restaurant is always seemed to be pack with so many people. Reason being, they have their tables set on the corridor and even by the roadside. So if you don’t mind that, you can always pay a visit here. It is a little pricy compared to other steamboat around the neighborhood. But I realized, they charge utensils and tissue paper fee. Rather ridiculous if you ask me.

But we must give credit to the varieties of soup bases and the spacious dinning environment. There are 6 Different types of soup base (Soya, Curry, Tomyam, Porridge, Herbal, and Plain Soup Base). There is nothing great on the soup that is worth strong recommendation, rather the extensive selection of over 50 choices of ingredients.

  1. It is important not to be too adventurous with food, and to take food preparation and food restrictions seriously, as I am sure you do. For those who do not, I remind them with this quote:

“In 1849, hungry gold miners crossing the Nevada desert noticed some glistening balls of a candy-like substance on a cliff, licked or ate the balls, and discovered them to be sweet-tasting, but then they developed nausea. Eventually it was realized that the balls were hardened deposits made by small rodents, called packrats … Not being toilet trained, the rats urinate in their nests, and sugar and other substances crystallize from their urine as it dries out … In effect, the hungry gold miners were eating dried rat urine laced with rat feces and rat garbage.”
